Soul'd Out

We are a group of young adults ranging from High School Seniors to age 30. This group is for young people who desire to take their faith to the next level!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

FUEL
Every Sunday night we meet and attend FUEL at Eastview Church in Bloomington. This is a praise and worship time just for young adults.

Service Project
We will be helping to clean at Living Word Church on a every other Thursday.

Small Groups

The small group is getting ready to start a new book and will meet every other Sunday. The next meeting is 8/28/11 at 5:00 p.m. We will be going through Joyce Meyer's book "Love Revolution". A large portion of this book is about a call to action; it is a call to being...being the person who helps a friend in need...who helps a stranger in need...who practices aggressive acts of kindness. Joyce Meyer points out that if we live for ourselves, we will never be satsified. Come be a part of a small group of people who are unwilling to continue living the way we have lived in the past!

Aside from reading and discussing the book we want to focus on outreach in the community. Our hope is that we can be intentional about making lasting relationships, having a blast and spreading the love of Christ around our area!!

Young Adults Defined:

Young adults are technically those people between the ages of 18 and 30. The reality is that a young adult could be female, male, a student, a professional, single, married, a parent, still living with a parent, Generation X or a Millennial, a seminarian, an ordained minister, someone who hasn't set foot in a church since high school and anything in between. "Young Adult" is a distinction of age that encompasses a diverse and dynamic group of people.

We are all called to serve God in many ways, with many gifts. Serving one another with our time, energy and talents is a vital ministry, whether in local communities, around the nation or across the globe. Thoughts:

The young adult ministry will create a community of Young Adults in Living word church:

A community of young adults within Living Word church who are growing together in their understanding of God’s love and desire to give meaning to their lives;

A community where you are accepted and challenged to grow in your relationship with God, and build authentic relationships with other young adults;

A community that is vibrant and attracts other young adults to Living Word Church and provides them a place to grow roots;

A community where young adults can discover their spiritual gifts and talents and then learn how to use them in Living Word Church, their workplaces, community and nation;

A community where young adults learn about social justice and are wanting to get involved and make a difference not only for their generation but future generations;

A community where young adults desire to serve and reach out to touch the lives of other people;

A community where leaders are nurtured and mentors are trained to lead by example;

We strive to be inclusive of the whole body of Christ in Living Word Church

The mission of Young Adult Ministries:
  • Affirm the unique gifts, talents, and ministries of young adults;
  • Provide opportunities through programs and resources for young adults to explore ways to integrate their faith in their lives and through their life transitions;
  • Develop young adult leadership and ministry trough resources and training programs to empower young adults and strengthen their commitment to Living Word Church;
  • Support existing models and create new models for ministries with young adults.
  • Nurture leaders of young adult ministries through training, resources and creating environments of support;
  • Fully embrace young adults in our churches and in our communities, addressing their needs and issues through evangelism and a spirit of Christian fellowship, renewing and supporting the growth of the body of Christ.
